Celebrating Healthcare Heroes During National Hospital Week

National Hospital Week is dedicated to highlighting and celebrating our healthcare systems and the individuals that provide care to our communities. Each year, healthcare systems and hospitals around the nation celebrate and honor their employees in various ways. This year was RH Events & Catering’s 13th year working with WellStar Health System to celebrate their employees. Months of planning and coordination resulted in exciting events enjoyed by thousands of healthcare workers across the state of Georgia.

The festivities started with a popcorn party to mark the recognition of being named in the “Fortune 100 Best Places to Work”. We partnered with King of Pops to provide an afternoon break with popcorn and popsicles. Employees appreciated the afternoon pick-me-up in between busy shifts.

The main event included a cookout style lunch complete with hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, baked beans, cole slaw, chips, cookies and drinks. Some locations included games and additional entertainment. When feeding thousands of people, a strong logistical plan is imperative to the success of the event. The average breakroom or cafeteria can’t accommodate 3,500 employees at once. Most events took place in a parking lot or courtyard. We transformed the spaces with tables and chairs, tents, music, and décor. Using what you already have and turning it into an event space is one of RH Events & Catering’s specialties.

In total, we served 26,000 people on 50 different events. Our team loaded and unloaded 9 trucks 59 times. All of this happened across 26 locations in 17 days.

These events provided a space for employees to take a moment outside and relax with a good meal. The atmosphere was vibrant and fun. Attendees left feeling recharged and satisfied. Our healthcare heroes positively impact us every day, and they deserve to be celebrated. RH Events & Catering is honored to contribute to the National Hospital Week celebrations every year.
